Max E. Burkhart, A.I.A. - President - Senior Partner

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Texas A&M University.
Masters of Architecture work at U.S.C.

Experience:

Thirty-four years experience involving design, engineering, and construction of a variety of building types. Registered Architect in the State of Texas.

Mr. Burkhart has been the President and Senior Partner of Valcon, Inc. since its inception. He has been instrumental in negotiating architectural and engineering, design/build and construction contracts with many national companies in Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. Mr. Burkhart's experience and expertise in the areas of architecture, project management, construction management, engineering, inspection, project coordination and administration has benefited a wide range of projects - from municipal facilities to regional shopping malls to luxury condominiums and resort developments.

Lowell Holmes, P.E. - Vice President

Education:

Bachelor of Science, Texas A&M University.

Experience:

Thirty-four years experience involving design, engineering and construction of a variety of building types. Registered Engineer in the State of Texas.

Mr. Holmes' project experience includes several educational related facilities, airport facilities including aircraft hangars, and FBO and air cargo facilities. His latest project assignment was as Vice President-in-Charge of all construction activities for General Dynamics Services Company's new facilities at the Harlingen International airport.

Mr. Holmes has been instrumental in negotiating both design and construction contracts with many national companies in Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. Mr. Holmes' experience and expertise in the areas of construction engineering, inspection, coordination, and administration has benefited such clients as Levi Strauss, William Carter Co., Norton Co., The Kroger Co., Montgomery Ward, Manitowoc, Harlingen National Bank, the Marine Military Academy and the Coca-Cola Company.

As a resident of Harlingen for the past 28 years, Mr. Holmes has worked with a number of local organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, in their efforts to develop new industry for the Harlingen area.

Jesse Gonzalez - Construction Coordinator / Project Manager

Experience:

Twenty-five years project experience as Project Manager, Construction Documents Coordinator, and Technical Draftsman. Mr. Gonzalez progressed through the design and production office and has emerged as a superior Director of Production and Construction Coordinator.

Mr. Gonzalez has been involved in projects with individual values from $40,000.00 to over $18,000,000. Mr. Gonzalez has managed and coordinated projects involving intense client and agency coordination with several city governments, institutional groups, and agencies such as the Department of Agriculture, the EPA, the FAA, HUD, and the Department of Defense.

Kurt Holmes - Assistant Project Manager

Education:

Undergraduate Studies College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Texas A&M University.

Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business, Pan American University.

Experience:

Nine years experience as Technical Draftsman, Job Captain, and Project Manager. His current duties include: CADD operations, in-house architectural delineation, interior space planning, project design, and construction administration.

Mr. Holmes project experience has helped him and our client in his current position as Assistant Project Manager for construction of facilities for Heart Clinic, Inc. in Harlingen.

Rick O'Riley - Construction Manager

Education:

San Antonio College for Art, Architecture, and Sociology.

Also Certified in First Aid and Lifesaving.

Experience:

Twenty years construction experience. Eight years experience as a shop instructor for equipment use, teaching actual framing and finish work applications for building houses and large buildings. Has been with Valcon, Inc. for twelve years in construction supervision, building commercial buildings and large homes. Able to design and draw architectural plans and make on-job changes along with the necessary pricing. Has extensive experience in the remodel of office buildings, condominium buildings, apartments, manufacturing plants, warehouses and design/build projects, etc. Was actively involved in the construction of several Levi Strauss projects, L & F Distributors, Right Away Foods, Lack's Design Center and Lease Spaces, Lack's in Brownsville, Weslaco, Harlingen and downtown McAllen, Valley Beverage, thirteen story Padre Grand Condominiums, Boardwalk Marina & Yacht Club, Vista Del Mar Condominiums, twenty- nine story Bridgepoint Condominiums, Truck Parts Center, Valley Coca-Cola in McAllen and San Benito, and numerous other projects. Other duties include the implementation of safety program.

Juan Zuvieta - Construction Superintendent

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Building Construction, Texas A & M University.

Experience:

Eighteen years in commercial and industrial construction. One year with E.B. Darby Construction Company and seventeen years with Valcon, Inc. Experience has been project supervision for projects ranging from remodeling offices and warehouse facilities to construction of new facilities for clients including Valley Ready-Mix Concrete in Harlingen and in McAllen, and Central Power and Light Company in San Benito, Mission, McAllen and Rio Grande City. Duties include day to day coordination of the project, meeting and coordinating with the clients, meeting and coordinating with the architectural and engineering consultants, and scheduling of subcontractors, equipment and labor forces. Juan utilizes computers for job scheduling and report writing. He particularly likes projects that are unusual and challenging and has developed many innovative solutions for tough construction problems.

Arthur Holmes - Estimator and Contract Manager

Education:

Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business, Pan American University.

Experience:

Three (3) years field experience involving general construction. Two (2) years experience as Plant Manager for structural steel fabricator involving estimating, office administration, production, purchasing and field supervision. Eight (8) years experience as Estimator in building construction involving a wide range of projects from processing, production and warehouse facilities to retail, financial and recreational developments.
